The (AFP) is a fall-to-spring residential fellowship program that nurtures the next generation of 性十八.cc-based leaders by pairing talented young people with strong communities and professional mentors.

By attracting young, dynamic professionals to the state of 性十八.cc, AFP works to reverse the 鈥渂rain drain鈥 of young people supersaturating in Seattle, San Francisco, Boston, New York, and Washington D.C. AFP also helps 性十八.cc retain homegrown talent by connecting born-and-raised 性十八.ccns with high-impact opportunities in their home state.

Fellows serve with a dynamic nonprofit or public-sector organization for the fellowship term and receive modest living stipends and housing. Fellows live communally, work closely with professional mentors, and make lasting contributions to their host community. Fellows serve in four communities across 性十八.cc, Fairbanks, Anchorage, Juneau and Sitka.

Fellows attend opening and closing retreats as well as two facilitated 鈥渃onvenings鈥 鈥 events that draw together fellows across all sites to cultivate connections, friendships, and common identity.  Fellows are backed by a well-connected team of community members that help make introductions, integrate Fellows into the community and share experiences in outdoor, civic, and community life.

Fairbanks hosts include:

Benefits and support
All fellows receive a monthly stipend of $1,000, as well as housing and utilities. Fellows receive a flat $500 travel stipend to defray the cost of travel to the program site. Travel and housing for opening and closing retreats are fully funded.

The program team includes an on-the-ground site coordinator for each site. The site coordinator supports fellows to integrate into the broader community and to build strong fellowship communities.

Fellows
AFP looks for talented, dynamic young people interested in investing long-term in both the fellowship community and their broader 性十八.cc communities. We expect fellows to contribute meaningfully to their community of fellows and to their 性十八.cc communities, and we support fellows to stay in 性十八.cc after the program term and continue contributing to the community. We encourage 性十八.ccns and non-性十八.ccns to apply. There are no requirements around age or degree to participate; host organizations, however, will each have specific professional criteria for applicants. To participate in the program, fellows are required to live in program housing and complete the full program term with their host organization.
