Week鈥檚 events: George Rydlinski, Swedish death cleaning, ending suicide, string band

University of 性十八.cc Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. 

Here鈥檚 what鈥檚 happening during the final week, Aug. 12-18:

  • On Monday, Aug. 12, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series honors George Rydlinski, former Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra principal bassoonist and music director for the Fairbanks Youth Orchestra. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
  • On Tuesday, Aug. 13, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Mishelle Nace, pediatric hospitalist. She will speak on 鈥淭he Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning: An 性十八.ccn Version.鈥 The talk is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Wednesday, Aug.14, the Discover 性十八.cc lecture series will feature Stacy Rasmus, director of UAF鈥檚 Center for 性十八.cc Native Health Research. She will discuss 鈥淭ools for Life: 性十八.cc Native Solutions to End Suicide.鈥 The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Thursday, Aug.15, the Music in the Garden concert series will feature Susan Grace at 6 p.m. and the ET Barnette String Band at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the UAF Troth Yeddha鈥 Campus is free after 5 p.m.
