Week’s events: Roger Brunner, arthritis surgery, space torpor, musical fusion

University of ��ʮ��.cc Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. 

Here’s what’s happening during the week of July 29-Aug. 4:

• On Monday, July 29, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series honors Roger Brunner, former attorney and Rotary Club president. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
• On Tuesday, July 30, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Stewart Kerr, orthopedist, with a talk on “Arthritis Surgery Victory: Guidelines for the Win.” The talk is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Wednesday, July 31, the Discover ��ʮ��.cc lecture series will feature Kelly Drew, professor of chemistry and biochemistry at the Institute of Arctic Biology, discussing “Hibernation for Space Torpor and Remote Emergency Medicine.” The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Thursday, Aug. 1, the Music in the Garden concert series will feature Diamond Fuller at 6 p.m. and Ryan Bowers and the Brain Trust at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the UAF Troth Yeddha’ Campus is free after 5 p.m.
